Yoke Handmade came to be in 2018 in a cabin in the woods of Nevada City, California. After the birth of my son in that same cabin, I struggled to find clothing that matched my new feelings; I sought garments that reflected my deep desire to help heal the Earth. I craved complete transparency in process and honesty in supply chain.
This is my offering to you: Clothing that is ethically made, sewn, and sourced. This is one of the great links to the health of our home, Earth, and our homes, our Bodies. We have a chance to make a difference in these beautiful places and I promise to continue to seek out ways to make this easier to do.
I draft, cut, and sew each garment you see here. I source 100% organic hemp linen from Rawganique in Washington and locally (less than 60 miles from Nevada City) woven, domestically grown fabric from Huston Textile Company. I also create one of a kind garments from found, secondhand, natural textiles. Each garment is sewn up with 100% organic all-cotton or found thread. I ship plastic-free. I quilt up or donate my scraps to other quilting pals.
Thank you for being here.
